Marleijn Spekking (1996, Utrecht, The Netherlands)

is a multi-disciplinary artist mainly working in the domain of sculpture, installation, video and performance. Marleijn Spekking is always working with different kinds of material, to keep all new work a challenge and to push herself to go out of her comfort zone.

In her artwork Marleijn likes to push the limits, break through taboos, confront people with their insecurities, questioning what is 'normal', being shameless in her work to show or maybe inspire people to be more like this and be themselves without feeling insecure. The objective of the work is to trigger to let people think and talk about certain subjects that we maybe don't want to be confronted with.

Gender, feminism and equality is a theme that comes back a lot in Marleijn's work, but also she deals a lot with this in her personal life. Right now Marleijn is working on an artwork that is all about female pleasure. In this artwork she is working with new techniques such as programming and coding.
